Provincial Council for Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons (PCRDP)
About PCRDP
The Council was established in pursuance of Section 5 of the Disabled Persons (Employment & Rehabilitation) Ordinance 1981.
It executes the policies made by the National Council for the Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons (NCRDP).
PCRDP provides mobility aids such as wheelchairs, tricycles, white canes, hearing aids, and financial assistance to persons with disabilities.
It ensures the implementation of a 2% quota in public and private sector organizations reserved for disabled persons and realization of DPR fund in lieu of default.
During the current financial year 2015-16, Rs. 39 Million were allocated for financial assistance to persons with disabilities.
A stipend of Rs. 3000/- per student was distributed among 38 Special Education Centers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Rs. 50.673 million were distributed amongst 10,122 disabled persons @ 5000 per beneficiary during 2014-15.
Additionally, 373 tricycles, 517 wheelchairs, and 407 sewing machines were distributed through PCRDP funds in 2013-14.
In 2016-17, Rs. 45.60 Million has been earmarked as Grant-in-Aid for PCRDP.
Functions

- Undertake welfare projects.
Activities
- Stipend of Rs. 3000/- per annum to all enrolled students in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
- Financial assistance provided to 5,828 PWDs @ Rs. 5000 per annum.
- 3,090 Wheelchairs, 3,784 Tricycles, 1,982 Sewing Machines, 1,606 White Canes, and 563 Hearing Aids provided through District ADP 2016-17.
- Microcredit scheme – interest-free loans provided through Bank of Khyber as per decision of the 32nd meeting of the council.
